Nicaragua Universities and Colleges

The country of Nicaragua has over 150 universities, colleges, and technical schools. A high concentration of the schools of higher learning are located in the capital of Managua, Nicaragua.

Central American University

The Central American University (UCA) is a private university founded by the Society of Jesus in 1960 and is located in Managua, Nicaragua. UCA offers both undergraduate and graduate degree programs.

National Autonomous University of Nicaragua

The National Autonomous University of Nicaragua (UNAN) is a publicly funded institution that was founded in 1818. UNAN and has two campuses, the main campus is located in Managua while the other campus is located in Leon. UNAN-Managua has four regional colleges, which are extensions of the Managua campus, which are UNAN Carazo, UNAN Chontales, UNAN Esteli, and UNAN Matagalpa. UNAN offers both undergraduate and graduate level degree programs.

National University of Engineering

The National University of Engineering (UNI) has three campuses in Nicaragua and offers both undergraduate and graduate level degrees in a wide variety of engineering and technology disciplines. The Simon Bolivar campus (UNI RUSB) and the Pedro Arauz Palacios campus (UNI RUPAP) are located in the city of Managua. The Augusto C. Sandino campus (UNI RUACS) is located in the city of Esteli which is located in the Nortwest portion of Nicaragua.

Ave Maria University - Latin America Campus

Ave Maria University - Latin America Campus (AMULAC) is located in San Marcos and is a branch campus of the Ave Maria University in Naples, Florida. AMULAC is a liberal arts Catholic university offering bachelors of arts degrees and all instruction is done in the English language.
